The accompanying lenses and goods will accommodate most needs. Only missing component, in my humble opinion, is a solid wide-angle or macro lens, but that would increase the price another $300-$500. This is my first DSLR, however, I thoroughly researched it and have owned and extensively used two very good SLR's and the shift has been rather smooth. The Canon 60D is a great DSLR camera for those amateurs who do not wish to spend Canon 7D money and find the Canon T2i inadequate.
