Beautiful low-light shots are possible at both low and high ISO speeds, and the dynamic range is expanded to retain maximum detail in highlight and shadow areas. The first is the 12.1 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, which positions the light-receiving surface for optimal light reception. More light means clearer, blur-free images with plenty of detail and nuance, even in dark areas. Working together with the CMOS sensor to deliver the HS SYSTEM is Canon's advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which actively reduces noise and delivers high speed image processing. Customer Reviews unusable 576 of 583 people found the following review helpful. Great compact camera with HD video by J. Gebauer I am a professional photographer who shoots and got a DSLR camera store in the past. I wanted something that I can take everywhere with me, but still produces good quality pictures. I also wanted a good looking video camera that could shoot. I researched different models and, after much deliberation decided the Canon HS 300. I am very glad I did. Image quality: cameras and lenses I tested all the time, while managing the camera store so when I get a new camera or lens, I always buy test. Canon HS 300 is not the quality of the images makes my Nikon D7000, but I did not expect it. The edges a little soft with the HS 300 as we look at the image at 100%, while the D7000 sharp images are almost touching. Comparison of the HS 300 for the Canon Powershot SD1000 a few years ago, the HS-300 blows it out of the water. The SD1000 is a 7 MP camera shooting the same shots on a tripod with the same lens focal HS 300 uses its additional members. Looking at the images from every camera setting at 100% zoom zoom wide angle normal atmosphere, and both cameras have about the same sweetness lightly on the edges. However, the HS 300 has more MP so that it actually produces much more detailed image. I think it was smart to Canon to keep the member 12 because the patterns of recent years as the MP 14 (SD1400) provided further details of what you might say that the MP version 12 (SD1300). The SD1400 is basically just to create large files. In a telephoto zoom in the HS 300 produces a much sharper than the SD1000. Cameras often have weak points in the zoom range in which it will produce sharper images. The SH 300 is still good sharpness throughout the zoom range is. HS System and ISO: Imaging with HS system really works to reduce noise at high ISO allows people to produce better image quality under low light conditions Improved image quality becomes more and more obvious the biggest and the higher ISO. ISO 400 with the HS 300 was almost as ISO 200 on the SD1000. ISO 800 on the HS 300 was a bit "better than ISO 400 on the SD1000. ISO 1600 on the HS 300 was between ISO 400 and 800 on the SD1000. ISO 3200 on the HS 300 has produced the same image quality (noise), like ISO 800 on SD1000 . A 2-stop improvement in the movie is great. 1080p video and slow motion: with good light, they produce 300 HS-1080 pretty smooth video. If you see a lot of HD video from the video shoot cameras often appear nervous. From what I saw was not until they arrived at the Canon G12 or Panasonic LX5 that video is so smooth. Both of these cameras only shoot this camcorder records 720p 1080p. The video is also a good detail. It really looks like HD if you want to zoom and continuous auto focus with your video of this device, the desired one, the HS 100, to increase it. The Continuous AF with face detection is stellar with this camera in video mode. I filmed my wife while she drove. He focused on his face. I went outside landscape. He focused on that right away. Then I went back to my wife and found his face and focused on it immediately. I've even shot his reflection in the mirror and found his face in the mirror without problems and focused on him. AMAZING! Commenting on a complaint that I read on the slow zoom in video mode. If you have pain, like every time someone on or off quickly if it is not your video camera's zoom. As smooth as a video view is the zoom. Zoom smooth transitions creates beautiful looking, rather than forward with the speed of light. The slow movement is a fun feature that works well. You must have a good light but in low light, even at high ISO, it has very dark video. In a review someone commented that it is.
