Experience the Power. Canon's HS SYSTEM with a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS and DIGIC 4 Image Processor improves shooting in low-light situations without the need for a flash and lowers noise levels at higher ISO settings. The Canon HS SYSTEM takes the frustration out of low light shooting. The system delivers clear, blur-free shots with all the ambiance intact, and frees you from the sometimes unwanted effects of using the flash. Beautiful low light shots are possible at both low and high ISO speeds, and the dynamic range is expanded to retain maximum detail in highlight and shadow areas. The system is the result of two technologies brought together in a compact PowerShot. The first is the 12.1 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, which positions the light-receiving surface for optimal light reception. More light means clearer, blur-free images with plenty of detail and nuance, even in dark areas. Working together with the CMOS sensor to deliver the HS SYSTEM is Canon's advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which actively reduces noise and delivers high speed image processing.

I used it in a wedding, it will climb in and out on a paintball field, night shooting and fireworks. My impression so far is that this camera has more flexibility in a point and shoot I've seen so far. The low light performance is really impressive, I can only imagine the S95 would be even better with a full F-stop wider lens. However, I have to say that a long lens this SX230HS really been helpful on many occasions. It's fun to be closer to certain conditions, such as the paintball field or the details of fire in buildings, or come to the bride and groom, or even more shots of fireworks. It's not the camera more ergonomic than ever, I'm sure I read about flash and positioning controls small. The pop-up flash is fine, because 95% of the time I do not use the flash, I just hold him down while I turn the camera and off the track. But when I need it, I turn off the camcorder, then a minor inconvenience. The format is on the verge of being too big and heavy for a "back pocket" camera. I use a neoprene bag with a small carabiner. The LCD screen is nice, but the image is smaller than the LCD screen displays the control room, a little misleading, but it is a high resolution allows for the size. Some of the other controls to get used to the manual controls and the many ways. With that said, but the features of this camera are great. Tons of different recording options that meet the needs of the average user. There is an "easy trigger" that I use when I'm in a race for a shot. I did not find the problem as one of the reviewers a consistent blur did not when I saw him on easy mode, where the images are sharp in most circumstances there is a ton of movement at the point where you just limit by physics .. not enough light and too much motion blur =. With that said, I low-light photos are exceptional for a point and shoot. I was so pleasantly surprised with fireworks. I did not really make videos, but a very difficult video I took in very low light very far away was nervous and the color was off. But under normal light and the distance, it's good. Finally, complaints about the battery life is completely valid. To give you an idea, I ran out of juice from a full charge from mid-morning on the wedding at the beginning of the reception. I shot about 150 photos, but kept the camera on a very, zoom in and out. But I got a charge and it makes it pretty quickly. I would like to buy at least one if not two extra batteries for long trips without the availability of energy that backpacking trips or 3 ° In any case, this camera is really good enough for me to buy another as a gift to my brother. If you want a high end point and shoot which is still small enough to carry around in a jacket pocket, this is a good choice. 8 of 9 people found this review helpful. Excellent Power Shot. DSLR as a control, fresh filters. By Dennis Morgan in my title, so I turned off the excellent "Power Shot". Do not expect that the picture quality you would find on a package of $ 1000 + camera with a nice goal. If it had that image quality, I really feel bad for paying so much on a digital SLR camera. Picture quality is good, even for a compact camera. Zoom is great and goes really far. I come from a Canon SD1200, and in a way that the camera takes better pictures in certain situations. But I was tired of having no control. So I have this and you have all the creative ways you would find on a DSLR does not know how to use these modes are missing out on some cool aspects of photography. I learned quickly and now I am enjoying the manual configuration. For the most part the creation of the aperature is open from f/3.1 and f/8.0 up to about ... It's a nice one.
