Experience the Power. Canon's HS SYSTEM with a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS and DIGIC 4 Image Processor improves shooting in low-light situations without the need for a flash and lowers noise levels at higher ISO settings. The Canon HS SYSTEM takes the frustration out of low light shooting. The system delivers clear, blur-free shots with all the ambiance intact, and frees you from the sometimes unwanted effects of using the flash. Beautiful low light shots are possible at both low and high ISO speeds, and the dynamic range is expanded to retain maximum detail in highlight and shadow areas. The system is the result of two technologies brought together in a compact PowerShot. The first is the 12.1 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, which positions the light-receiving surface for optimal light reception. More light means clearer, blur-free images with plenty of detail and nuance, even in dark areas. Working together with the CMOS sensor to deliver the HS SYSTEM is Canon's advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which actively reduces noise and delivers high speed image processing.

Canon's First GPS By Jeff Wright I bought this camera as a replacement for my Canon SD800IS, which I was very interested in getting new GPS capabilities. I also have a professional camera with my Canon 7D, then this camera is more of a family / travel. Overall I am very happy photo quality manuals and resources offered (the degree of control over exposure, aperture, flash level, etc.) have a button to shoot the video is great. However, the battery life is much smaller than my old camera. I get around 200 to 220 pictures (instead of 600 +), some videos, a battery played with the GPS function. Buy an extra battery. For the GPS, it takes about 1-2 minutes for the camera to the satellites once was blocking. I think it's cool to see exactly where you took a picture and it's clean accommodations (wish I had it for a trip to Italy a few years ago). I recommend this camera to anyone looking for a super zoom with GPS Just note the size of a little 'bulky and need to carry an extra battery. Pros: Excellent photo of the day * * Very good in pictures w / flash for a compact camera or GPS functionality * usually works well, the photos clearly show the scene * Apple Aperture Zoom works fast, and eventually the screen to display a position of * HDMI * HD zoom works well out of reach, but the cable is sold separately Pros: * Battery life is not great with the GPS (about 200 photos / battery). The battery indicator flashes red in time (with 25-30% left), so it could be a pro or con. * Camera is cumbersome compared to my old SD800IS, if a case that hold it. Many of the characteristics of digital SLR Canon. [2] You can save images in the camera (color, crop, filters) edit [3] the HD video recording is impressive [4] with 14x zoom and 56X digital zoom. [5] GPS [6] hunting trip with a smile or wink of the eye [7] Mini HDMI to [8] Several modes to choose from. Tv, Av, M, P, Portrait, Landscape ... just to name a few [9] adjustable shutter to 1 / 3200 [10] makes adjustable 100-3200 ISO [11] HS and IS this thing worth the money [12] menus are easy to navigate (because of how similar the Canon SLR) [13] The mode dial goes around all the time. [14] Too many to list ... Less: [1] Get your finger on the flash. The location of the flash takes a little used to know [2] Battery life is terrible [3] I have big hands, so it is difficult to understand for me. [4] is only open to F3.1 wide open [5] allegations flash slowly, but it's a decent point and shoot (I am so on my Canon 430 EX II Lite used speed on my DSLR) [6] shutter speed 1 second or ISO 100 is just more limited. Final thoughts: [1] Canon makes some of the best cameras, if not the best, a lot of DSLR technology squeezed into this little thing to get. [2] If this camera had an F2 aperture, such as the Canon S95, Canon would be the best point and shoot camera so far are free, but there is a balance to zoom. Both are neck and neck in my book with the S95 edge by a hair because of F2. [3] The main difference between the SX230 and SX220 (UK) is the GPS. Why is there no one SX220 in the U.S.? If you feel like an import, it's about $ 80 less. [4] love this camera so far. If you have a Canon EOS camera will use a sinch. I have not even read the manual. Otherwise, if this is your first time using features such as TV and AV mode, if you read a book. [5] The price is just right, but was just a tad lower. You get a good feature-rich compact digital camera for this price. Do not be fooled by the touch-screen or dual cameras. They are just gimmicks.
