High-quality video, but remains focused Zainul Charbiwala've had this camera for a week and have been loving it ever since. I used another "pull" the camera and put Bloggie Press shame. Advantages: 1. Love to live and record. Ideal for small spontaneous video. 2nd The touch screen makes it useful and fun to use the big screen. 3rd Still images come out light when the lighting and focus are good. 4th The battery charges up super fast and stays with you for a full day of shooting. 5th Image stabilization is good. You can take decent video while walking and the countryside as well. Note that it is not optical, but SteadyShot stabilization mail. 6th The lens is of very good quality and the images are sharp. 7th I really like the "flip the image during recording" function. I think that counts most. The video is not blocked, while the picture (full resolution 12M) and from the focus and exposure are to be made generally good, while you are locked in the middle of the video, the images come from less large: 1 In low light, there are some grains and use the digital zoom makes it much worse. 2nd While the goal is good, the autofocus mechanism is very slow. If you move the camera around too much focus on locked, and the autofocus is almost never be blocked. 3rd What I really miss with this camera has a flash. Even a small help in low light images. 4th Minor annoyance: a preview right after you take, you must have at least two clicks. Sony could be designed so that it's always about the last image taken by default, have instead a list of thumbnails of the images / videos on your device. I decided to buy this camera has a camera, the video can do, because: 1 This is dead easy. During a switch to turn on, video stills and Take That makes it both easy and fast to use. 2nd This can be done to 1080p and 720p video at 60fps. 3rd Its under $ 200 and less than the phone. 4th Its got internal flash memory and USB connectivity - no more SD card or cable. 8 GB is enough to get through the day before you can get back to your laptop, to print the images. I decided this camera compared to others who buy into the same category because: 1 Its got a large display and touch screen is fun to use. 2nd Its got a better lens than the others. 3rd Its got (some) image stabilization. 128 of 138 people found the following review helpful. Terrible focus hunting issues and ergonomics By dcJohn I wanted to like this camera, but it was a complete disappointment. First and foremost, that the autofocus is terrible. The picture is often blurry, and there is again no way to tell the camera trying to focus. (Why not add this and handle it like the iPhone do? Simply touch the subject you want in focus) Most portable video cameras like this (eg flip, and Kodak) has defined the focus, and I was hoping for the ability of Sony to focus, as it helps to get better macro shots. Instead, the camera is constantly looking for focus, not often found. Ergonomics is also a problem. Many times I hold the camera vertically, because it's comfortable, but still take normal landscape photos of wide-angle (again, like my back and Kodak cameras operate). In contrast, changes in orientation Sony verticle when held upright. Therefore, we have to keep aside all the time, which is not very comfortable for any length of time. To make matters worse, none of the tools for sharing images online work with Mac (although it will import into iMovie). The touch screen is nice and responsive, and video quality is good when it's in focus (with the typical color, a little cooler than the Sony / white balance), but the negative aspects of the camera - especially the constant terrible.
