By Jeff Askia See video here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2FE3UYPXN53ZG pure awesomeness: (1) 26.3mm wide angle lens. You need a more wide-angle adapter, this lens beautifully at 26.3mm and has no noticeable lens distortion. (2) real 24p frame. 24 No fake pictures in an envelope with 60i, but the real progressive 23.98. Perfect for filmmakers, especially when combined with Sony's Cinema preset tone color. I think this is the first consumer of the Sony Handycam that shoots 24p. (3) 1080/60p to 28Mbps. The picture quality seems more real than real. You can also get great slow-motion 1080 - the most compact cameras 60p to 720 is not the 1080th (4) 96 GB internal flash storage. More than you need and the ability to transfer images directly to my external hard drive without using a computer. At first I thought the USB cable that comes more from the camera gets in the way of recovery, but pulls well in his life right plastic holder on the strap (5) Great in low light conditions. I compared this to my previously owned Canon and Panasonic HMC40 HFS200 and CX700 is seen more with clarity and color reproduction. And when the low light is not low enough for you, night vision mode looks dark. Makes me want to do bad things with it, but in a good way. (6) The maximum features make it simple and easy focusing with three colors (white, red or yellow). Kind of annoying, but I could live with him: (1) The dial is too sensitive. The control wheel on the Canon HFS200/20/21 abilities more accurately. (2) The location of the hot shoe, microphone and headphone inputs come in the way the camera actually takes place. In addition, it slides owned by Sony, so you'll have to buy an adapter if you use a third-party hardware. (3) Most of the functions within the touch-screen menu system, buried so ever single time you adjust a setting, you have to dig through the menu list. It wastes a lot of time. (4) Although Geotagging is a cool idea, you need Sony software to view their GPS positions in each clip. You can not see this information in Quicktime. The dealbreaker: (666) you can not control aperture, shutter speed, exposure and at the same time! The rotary control to select an envelope and then all the other settings automatically. So if you set your shutter speed to 1 / 48, then your exposure, the moment you switch lock in the menu, the shutter is in Auto mode. Worst of all, you can not use aperture, shutter speed, exposure, and values on the LCD screen at the same time. You really have no idea what you can control two of the three. If I had a Canon HV20, which was a trick used to set and lock the aperture, shutter speed and exposure - [...]. With the CX700, you can not do it and even if you can, Sony does not make it very intuitive to do because I tried the manual and played with the camera's menu for hours and could not find a solution. But hey, I might be late, so if anyone can understand this please let me know. I believe that if you want full manual control, it is necessary to intensify the Sony prosumer camcorders. Overall, this is a great step forward for Sony Handycam, but a giant step backwards. ***************************************** PS --- I imported the images Final Cut Pro 7 and the newspaper and the transfer does not recognize the 1080/60p images. I do not know if Apple will release an update or if Sony wants to force you to use their own software or transcoding Vegas. 12 of 12 people found this review helpful. With the amazing HD camera L. Schrader I'm a professional PD, and this camera is impressive. This is the first small HD camera that I can take a sunset.
