I love the quality audio and video is produced. The setup is simple enough, but I think the instruction manual when I want to do special things like change the scene. You are supposed to do this automatically, but I've yet to see my computer to change the default settings automatically. The software guys did a great job with the separation of all the different functions. You can almost go without having to use the manual, if you want to make things simple. I am also very impressed with the SteadyShot function. If you will be walking or record a live sports game, this is a must have feature. Some of the things I like about this camera is that sometimes the touchscreen can not respond in time. I'm pushing it a couple of times before the camera that the sign is not a major concern, but it does happen from time to time. When shooting in low light conditions, I was not impressed with the illuminated "R Exmor" CMOS sensor. Maybe I was expecting to capture sequences of more than 8 meters, but it works well if the subject is less than 8 meters. I'm new to the camera world then maybe 8 feet is excellent. I do not know. A word of warning for Mac users, you will have great difficulty with this device. As you know, the CD included with the camera is not compatible with a Mac addition, some video formats are not compatible with either iMovie. You would need another program to convert these files if you want to use / view them in iMovie. However, this is an ideal camcorder to overcome these drawbacks is the video quality you get.
