Most helpful customer reviews 268 of 280 people found the following review helpful. Alaska travel under my belt and it did everything I asked. By Bruce Porter, I just got back from vacation, I got the camera. 14 days in Alaska. The camera did everything I asked. A few points I would like to point out. * I was using firmware version 1.0 during the holidays, I see now is version 1.1, but not for some of the points I had problems with * One thing that surprised me is when you take a picture are in B & W cameras the solve mode, it will not concentrate on full zoom. This seems like a glitch to me, it makes no sense, but that's what I experienced when shooting. I went to work with video more and I was very unlucky to get it to focus. But I noticed that when I ran out and turned zoom on the video, it seemed to focus on the problems much better. Again, it makes no sense to me, but I'll be interested in other stakeholders and if they have the same experience as I met so many people to travel with us and the places I visited the P500 itself. I was able to give some newbies some advice. Share experiences with others and some also stain some pointers. Almost to the person who I interacted with people very happy happy with this camera. Yes, they all share some of the same complaints. One of the universal was the wrong move with a total lack of binding capacity of the filter and lens cap on / off. In image mode (no video) makes this camera more than you ask, if you study the manual and play with it. I promise that if they will put in "AUTO" and hope to resolve everything, you will be disappointed. Experience, learn from the camera. This is an impressive piece of technology. If you are interested in looking at some of the photos that I will, while in Alaska, please visit my Webshots page: [..] I went out and shot another 200 + photos this morning. Some notes about something I "discovered" during the shoot today. I shot a couple of short vids, the drying time by using multiple cameras and turned to sleep many times to zoom the camera and always showed a quarter of battery life left. Of course, if you are in an environment rich in the use of photos, a spare battery. Always better safe than sorry. Some reviewers said they could not find images for use with HDR. I found it useful and will attach some pictures for comparison. I have an SD card now 6th in class Nikon is the recommended minimum. It took about 13 seconds for the device to create an HDR photo and a few more seconds to write the card process. Camera continues to exhibit virtually no latency when shooting standard. HDR panoramas and things only slowly, taking longer HDR Nikon is really a progress bar that appears at the bottom so I do not think the camera is locked. When you use the whole (or nearly complete) and zoom in automatic mode, the camera had a good number of searches that focus on one point, while the macro. Since my last Lumix TZ5 was less than optimal in low-light focus, I'm used to using any program or aperture priority to get Nikon to focus on the goal. In what I consider "light half" of the camera refused to allow adjustment of the aperture to maintain a narrow range of concentration. I really do not humiliate not my grades on the camera. I like a lot. Just remember that it is not a DSLR. In comparison, a small sensor. There are always compromises. I am more convinced that this camera suits my purposes very well. Virtual reality of the extreme zoom impresses me still, such a low sensitivity to light and noise. Yes, there is noise, even at 560 ISO. But it is not distracting Wait until the camera geeks to test and publish their data (ie dpreview.com) to get hard statistics. My impression of all stopped and I'm glad I got a.
